The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost (Poem Review)
Assalamualaikum W.b.t,
Dear friends,
dah lama dah kita x bertemu dlm blog nie kan. Apa khabar semua? Sungguh cepat masa berlalu kan. Dah last weekend of ramadhan dah kita? Macam mana dgn persiapan raya? Everything ready? Hikhik ^_^
Ok'lah, tanpa melengahkan masa let's start with this new topic. Poem di atas bertajuk 'The Road Not Taken' by Robert Frost. This poem agak classic and famous. This poem has four stanzas of five lines.
It is about making decisions in life. Sebagai mahkluk Allah S.W.T manusia diberi pelbagai pilihan untuk meneruskan jln hidup tetapi setiap org hanya boleh buat satu pilihan sahaja. Begitu lah apa yg dimaksudkan oleh Robert Frost dlm poem nie with the praise " Two roads diverge in a yellow wood, and sorry i could not travel both". It means the poet has two choices, but he can only choose one.
This poem also tells us that making decision in life is not easy. It is also a dilemma for us because we did not know which decision is wright for us. Biasalah kita sbg manusia akan sentiasa diuji oleh Allah S.W.T. Masa depan kita adalah rahsia Allah S.W.T. We don't know what is waiting for us in the future. Kekdng ada juga rasa x sabar and nak tahu sgt kesudahan hidup kita. But it doesn't work that way.
Although making decision is a dilemma but still it doesn't mean you just have to stop there and follow the flow. Like the poet, in the end he decide to take the path where less people travel and believe that choice makes a different.
The Road Not Taken is one of my favorite poem. I study this poem when i was in form 5. Oh Wow! That was twelve years ago! As a person am also given choices and can only choose one in life. Although sometimes my decisions aren't perfect and have some twist but i'm still feeling thankful with it. Sebagai manusia kita berlajar sahaja pada pengalaman.
Apa lagi nak share? Itu jer la. See you next time pals ^_^ Khungang haseyo.
