Welcome to Fadima Mooneira's third episode of Bookworm Interview. For this third episode, I am grateful that I got the chance to interview a Malaysian bookworm, blogger, YouTuber, makeup and nail artist named Veronica Chiao En. Veronica is very passionate about makeup and nail art. Veronica's passion for her craft makes her enjoy and love reading books. Veronica has a unique opinion about books and reading culture. I am a strong single mom with a cute daughter. I am a Makeup artist & nail artist. I do also have a Beauty Academy (coming soon). The reason why I am living is to do the impossibilities.

THE INTERVIEW

When did you first start reading for pleasure?

I started reading from pleasure when I was 16. It started off with magazines like Seventeen, Cleo & Shape. ( back in 2009 ) And I read Nancy Drew's books, Living It - can't remember the author but most Malaysian writers wrote them. - bought in MPH.


What genre do you read?

What genre? Self-help, cooking, motivational, humor, beauty, and makeup.



 Do you judge a book by its cover?

I do judge a book by it's cover. 


What is your all-time favorite book / novel and why? Do you repeat reading it? 

My all-time  favorite book will be - Makeup & Beauty tips ( Korean Makeup Tips ) - by Saerom Min. Yes- Keep reading it.









Would you recommend your favorite book to other bookworms?

I don't know. But maybe won't. Because it's actually personal preferences. I may love it, but not necessary they will love it too. So I will actually tell them what I read if they are interested. Then I will recommend to them. Otherwise, I will just keep quiet.


Who is your favorite author?

I do not have a specific favorite author, but I do enjoy reading all kinds of my favorite genre books from any author.


What ambiance do you prefer for reading? Quiet at home or somewhere green and serene?

I prefer to read in CAFE. As it will totally relax and clear my mind of better absorption of knowledge. And of cause, not bringing my daughter along. Hahaha! I will ask my mom to take care of my daughter.


Ok, that's a cool idea. So how’s the reading culture in your country?

I have no idea. None of my business. 


Do you have any ideas on how to improve the reading culture in your country?

Ajak kawan baru yang nak read sama-sama, then tukar book to read and talk about it the next session and maybe play games to improve reading sessions.

    First of all, I love your hairstyle, that cut and the few or I should said left over hair but that doesn't sound polite is amazing.
