Narelle Kheng - The ASEAN Song Bird

Narelle Kheng is a Chinese-Singaporean singer, songwriter, actress, presenter, influencer, and former national swimmer. Kheng started her career as an entertainer in 2012. However, I just discovered this singer last December by coincidence. At that time, I was viewing one of my favorite Asian actors - Remy Hii's Insta Story. On his Insta Story, Hii posted a snipped of Kheng's music video - Blue that he acted in. As a fan of Remy Hii, I tuned in to YouTube to watched the music video (hehehe........... I just wanted to look at Remy ^_^). And that's how I discovered Narelle Kheng.........

In this new post, I would like to give the singer - Narelle Kheng some love. I believe Kheng deserves some love for her talent. At the end of this post, I will share with you guys five links to Kheng's music video. So pls read this post till the end.

Kheng was born on the 24th of September 1993. She is going to be 27 years old this year. Her Chinese name is Kheng Song Yi. Before she became a singer, Kheng was one of  Singapore's national swimmers. Kheng was trained in swimming when she was only 6 years old. But as she grows older, Kheng decided that music is more of her passion. 

Kheng grew up in Singapore. She attended Methodist Girl School Singapore, Anglo-Chinese Junior College, and Singapore Sports School. Kheng studied Communications at Nanyang Technology University. I believe this lady is definitely a creative genius. Kheng began promoting her self as an entertainer as a bass guitarist and vocalist for a Singaporean indie rock band named -The Sam Willows (TSW). In TSW, Kheng sang alongside her elder brother - Benjamin Kheng, Sandra Riley Tang, and Jonathan Chua. TSW has gone hiatus since May 2019. Most of the members are busy with their personal projects. However, they haven't decided to disband the band yet.

Kheng started her solo project by releasing her first solo song - "Some They Lie" in 2016. In 2019, Kheng released more solo songs - "Outta My Head", "Tears", "Let Me Be", and "Blue". As an actress, Kheng has cameo roles in drama series - Zero Calling and Against The Tide (both in 2014), and Peace and Prosperity (2016). Kheng has also played a lead role in a television drama called -Lifespam (2017).

Well, that's all the information I have about Narelle Kheng. After watching Blue music video last year, I instantly fall in love with Kheng's singing and music. The Blue music video is also now one of my favorite views on YouTube. Kheng's voice is just so melodious, and almost like a mocking bird. Her music is unique too. After listening to Blue, I started to research about Kheng and watched her other music videos on YouTube. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!! She is simply awesome and talented. Narelle Khen is a singer that you must not miss. Trust me, if you love Billie Eilish, IU, and Yuna Zarai, you will love Narelle Kheng too.
