WOMEN'S DAY 2020 SPECIAL: 10 Inspiring Asian Women In Pop-Culture

Women's Day is just around the corner. Yup, Women's Day is this Sunday, 8th of March 2020. So today I am gonna share with you a Women's Day 2020 special post. This post is a listicle post about 10 Inspiring Asian Women In Pop-Culture. So let's begin with the list.........


#1 Neelofa



Neelofa is Malaysia's TV host, actress, entrepreneur, and fashion icon. She is one of the most inspiring and influential women in the Malaysian entertainment industry. Neelofa is a creative genius and a go-getter-girl. Her enthusiasm and zest make her one of the best role models for young girls.  


#2 IU



IU is South Korea's singer, songwriter, and actress. She is one of the most successful celebrities in Hallyu entertainment and already been listed by Forbes as one of the most influential Asian artists. Besides her talent in singing, songwriting, and acting, IU is also famous for her kindness. Lates, this beautiful lady donated 20 million Korean won (USD 16,903.47) for Covid-19 relief efforts to Yangpyeong County in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. IU is known as the Donation Goddess in Hallyu entertainment. Plus, her life story and journey to success inspire youngsters to work hard, have courage, and be patient to achieve success.


#3 Gemma Chan



This Scottish-born-Chinese actress is also known for her brains and beauty. Chan was a lawyer turn actress. She has a Law Degree from Worcester College, Oxford. But she chooses acting instead of practicing law. Besides, her perfect visual, good acting skill, and intelligence, Chan is also known as a charity queen. She is now one of the ambassadors for Unicef.



#4  Song Hye Kyo



Song Hye Kyo is one of the most successful actresses in Hallyu entertainment. Besides being well known in Hallyu, she is also known internationally. She is well known for her beauty, talent, charisma, elegance, X-Factor, and hard work. Like IU, Song Hye Kyo is also very generous and loves doing charity.



#5 Awkwafina



Awkwafina is an American-born-Chinese actress and rapper. She is adored for her talent, charisma, and X-Factor. She is known as the woman who redefines beauty. This makes Awkwafina a role model for young girls. Awkwafina recently won Best Actress at the Golden Globe Awards 2020. Awkwafina is the first Asian actress to win the best actress award at the Golden Globe.


#6 Yuna Zarai



Yuna Zarai is a Malaysian singer and songwriter. She is one of the most successful Malaysian artists. Besides being successful in the Malaysian entertainment industry, Yuna is also famous internationally. Her songs have entered the American Billboard charts, and she once sang a duet with RnB famous singer -Usher. Yuna proved to her fans that it all takes hard work and confidence to be successful in your craft. This makes Yuna one of the most inspiring Asian women in pop-culture.


#7 Lisa Surihani



Lisa Surihani is a Malaysian actress. She is also known as one of the brains and beauty in the Malaysian entertainment industry. Lisa has a Law Degree from Aberystwyth University, Wales, United Kingdom. She is now married to singer, songwriter, actor, and entrepreneur - Yusry Abdul Halim. Although Lisa is now not that active in acting, she is still remembered and adored by her fans. Lisa is now appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador for Unicef Malaysia.



#8 Maudy Ayunda



Maudy Ayunda is Indonesia's singer, songwriter, actress, and activist for education and youth-related interest. She is one of the most influential young women in Indonesia. She speaks four different languages - Indonesian, English, Mandarin, and Spanish, and was a runner-up in speech competition at her school. Maudy Ayunda attended British School Jakarta, and she also graduated from the University of Oxford in 2016. She majored in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). Besides show business, Maudy Ayunda is also active in social, political, and economic issues in Indonesia.



#9 Dr. Soo Wincci



Dr. Soo Wincci is a Chinese-Malaysian singer and songwriter. She was once crown as Miss World Malaysia in 2008. Dr. Soo Wincci is not just a pretty face. She also has brains to go with her perfect visuals. Dr. Soo Wincci is a Ph.D. holder in Business Administration from the Open University Malaysia. Before achieving her Ph.D., Dr. Soo Wincci also has an MBA from the University of Sunshine Coast, Australia, and a Degree in Law from the University of Reading, United Kingdom. Dr. Soo Wincci is known as a knowledge-seeker. She also loves to share intellectual and inspirational stuff on her IG @dr.soowincci. She is one of my role models. #10 Datuk Siti Nurhaliza



She is known as Malaysia's all-time favorite celebrity and no.1 singing sensation. Datuk Siti rose to stardom when she was only 17 years old (the year 1997). She made a phenomenon after her debut by winning numerous awards in the Malaysian entertainment industry. Datuk Siti is now in her early 40's, she is still active in singing, a wife and mother, and also a businesswoman. She now has her own fashion brand - Creacion by Siti Nurhaliza, and cosmetic brand - Simplysiti.

    1. Of course there are. One of them is Malaysia’s former First Lady- Tun Siti Hasmah. She is one of the most inspiring Asian intellectual women to me. Others I’m not sure.
