Five Reasons To Read Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit Series During This Stay At Home Vacation

Eiyo dearies,

How are you guys doing with your stay at home vacation? I hope you guys are doing fine. Before I begin today's post, let me ask you a simple question first. What are the activities you guys do during your stay at home vacation? (I prefer to call this MCO "Stay At Home Vacation" ^_^) For me, I am enjoying myself writing, blogging, drawing, reading, doing fitness workouts, cleaning my room and bathroom. Hehehe. I'm sure you guys also have fun activities to do during your stay at home vacation, right? And one thing about me, I prefer to binge-reading more than binge-watching movies/dramas. How about you guys? Is there anyone of you here prefer binge-reading more than binge-watching?

During this stay at home vacation, I have already read three novels. I just finished reading See Me by Nicholas Sparks (I will write a review about it later), and now I am reading The Asset by Shane Kuhn. Besides reading novels, I also read children's storybooks for light reading. My favorite children's storybook to read is Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit series. I am always a fan of Peter Rabbit since I was a little girl. I have a collection of Peter Rabbit books and other memorabilia. I also love visiting The World Of Beatrix Potter Attraction, and Peter Rabbit and Friends Shop every time I travel to Lake District, England. In this post, I would like to share with you guys five reasons to read Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit series during this stay at home vacation. Let's begin with a brief about the author- Beatrix Potter.........

ABOUT BEATRIX POTTER

The author of Peter Rabbit and Friends - Beatrix Potter (Image from Daily Express)

Beatrix Potter is a legendary English children's storybook author and illustrator. She was born in London, England on the 28th of July 1866 and died on the 22nd of December 1943 in Near Sawrey, Lancashire/Lake District, England (she was 77 years old). Potter grew in an upper-middle-class family. She loved spending her vacation with numerous pets and farm animals in the English countryside. Potter's love for animals and nature inspired her to write and illustrate her own children's storybook. Potter's first children storybook was titled - The Tale Of Peter Rabbit. The book was first published in 1902 by Frederick Warne & CO. Following the success of her first book, Potter continued to write and illustrate her other books - Petter Rabbit and Friends series. In 1905, Potter bought Hill Top Farm in Near Sawrey and resided there for the rest of her life.

Now you know about the author, here are the five reasons to read the Peter Rabbit series during this stay at home vacation........

#1 THE BEAUTIFUL ILLUSTRATIONS

Besides her writing skills, I also admire Beatrix Potter for her drawing skills. Beatrix Potter is one of the illustrators that inspires me to draw. Her illustrations are beautiful and lovely to look at. Looking at Beatrix Potter's illustrations makes me happy and feel warm.

#2 THE STORIES ARE HEARTWARMING

From Jemina Puddle-Duck storybook (Image snap-shot by me using my iPhone)

I always enjoy reading the Peter Rabbit series for my light reading activity because the stories are so heartwarming and make me happy. Most of the storylines are simple and easy to understand. The author also gives us good moral values in her writings.

#3 IT MAKES YOU HAPPY

From Benjamin Bunny storybook (Image snap-shot by me using my iPhone)

I love reading storybooks with heartwarming stories. Heartwarming stories put a smile on my face and heart. I'm sure most of you have the same impression too about heartwarming stories. Plus, looking at Potter's illustrations already gives me a positive impression.

#4 IT MAKES YOU BELIEVE IN BEAUTY

From The Tale Of Peter Rabbit storybook (Image snap-shot by me using my iPhone)

Potter's story is all about animals and nature. Reading the Peter Rabbit series makes you believe in beauty, and to me believing in beauty is a good thing. To me, reading the Peter Rabbit series is another good therapy to reduce stress. It helps you to be positive. Even before this MCO, I always read the Peter Rabbit series during my free time.

#5 IT MAKES YOU APPRECIATE NATURE

One of Beatrix Potter's famous illustrations. From The Tale Of Peter Rabbit storybook (Image snap-shot by me using my iPhone)

Besides believing in beauty, reading the Peter Rabbit series also makes you appreciate nature. Since the world is now full of luxuries, technologies, and ITs, we forgot about nature. Nature is actually more important than luxuries, technologies, and ITs. This COVID-19 season is a time for us to remember nature and be kind to it. I believe this is also the message Beatrix Potter is trying to tell us in her writings and illustrations.

So these are the five reasons for you to read the Peter Rabbit series by Beatrix Potter during this stay at home vacation. I believe reading children's storybooks is a good way to rock your stay at home vacation because it makes you happy, stay positive, more imaginative and creative. Besides the Peter Rabbit series, I also love reading the Paddington Bear series by Micheal Bond, The Berenstain Bears series by Stanley and Janice Berenstain, The Cat In The Hat series by Dr. Seuss, Doraemon comics by Fujio F. Fujiko, and some fairytales and princesses stories.

So who else here enjoys reading children's storybooks for light reading? What is/are your favorite children's storybooks? Pls, feel free to share it with me in the comment box below.

Ok, that's all for now. Thank you for reading. Stay at home and pray.

XoXo,

Fadima Mooneira ^_^
