NOVEL REVIEW: See Me by Nicholas Sparks

How are you doing? I hope everyone is doing fine. In this new post, I would like to share with you my review on a novel I just finished reading the last two weeks. The novel is titled See Me by Nicolas Sparks. Now let's not waste time and get started.........

Nicholas Sparks is a famous American romance author and screenwriter. As an author, Sparks has published twenty novels and two non-fiction books. Most of his novels are listed as a bestseller. Sparks is also listed as one of the best international romance authors. 11 of his novels have already been adapted into a film. His popular novels include The Notebook, Message In Bottle, A Walk To Remember, A Bend In A Road, Dear John, The Choice, The Lucky One, The Last Song, The Wedding and many more. Nicholas Sparks is my favorite romance author. He is also one of the modern-day authors who inspires me to write. ABOUT SEE ME

The WIP setting for See Me is in Wilmington, North Carolina, America. The male protagonist is Colin Hancock, and the female protagonist is Maria Sanchez.
Maria is a hardworking and intelligent woman from a Mexican immigrant family. She has a Law degree from Duke Law School and currently working at a prestigious law firm in Wilmington. Besides brains, Maria is also a stunning beauty. Like most Mexican women, she has dark hair and perfect visuals. She is an almost perfect woman. Yet, Maria also had a traumatic history of her own. The traumatic history made Maria returned to her hometown and left her questioning so much of what she once believed.
Colin is a not-so-perfect-guy. Colin is hot-headed and always puts himself into trouble. But he is also protective, loving, romantic, and hardworking. Colin is creating a second chance for himself to rebuild his life. And he is giving his second chance the best shot. At the age of 28, Colin went to college again and plans to be a teacher after he graduates.
Colin and Maria met during an unexpected incident. The incident helps them to form a friendship. Later their friendship turns into a relationship. As love unexpectedly takes hold between them, Colin and Maria dare to envision their future together. Later Maria's traumatic past came into their life..............
MY OPINION AND RATING ON SEE ME
As a fan and follower of Nicholas Sparks' novels, I enjoyed reading See Me. To me, See Me is a bit different from Sparks' other novels before. Besides romance and family, See Me also has criminal investigation and suspense elements. The storyline is fast and very exciting. It makes you wanna know who is the real culprit that has been threatening Maria. The suspense elements in this novel make you can't stop reading until the end.
Besides the criminal investigation, suspense elements, and storyline, I also like Colin and Maria's character. Both of them are not perfect people. But their love for each other makes their puzzle complete. Plus, Colin and Maria are very honest with each other. I also like the way Sparks describes Colin and Maria's romance scene in the middle of the novel. The romance scene is very pure and romantic. Nothing erotic about it. Hehehe.
Overall, I rate this novel 9/10. I would also highly recommend this novel to bookworms, romance novel readers, and those who are a fan of Nicholas Sparks.

Great review, sounds like a great book. I didn't expect that Nicholas Sparks also wrote about crime/mystery, I associate him just with romance/drama based on what I heard about his books/movies. Maybe I will check this book out.

DeleteTak pernah baca buku ni dan not familiar dengan writer of this book. Ada yang suka baca macam2 genre kan. Ada yang suka baca tema love story, horror dan lain2. Membaca itu sememangnya bagus.

This story is about love. But it also has crime and suspense elements in it. The story ends with a happy ending. Colin and Maria ends up together.
