Eight Reasons Why IU Is My Girl Crush

South Korea's sweetheart - IU released a digital single titled 'Eight' on the 6th of May 2020. The single featured BTS's rapper - Suga. Eight was written by IU herself. Eight has been described as a nostalgic pop-rock song for 2020. The song is about IU's life as a 28-year-old woman.

Eight have received positive reviews and feedback from music experts. Music experts not only praise the lyrics and production, but they also compared Eight to the works of legendary musicians such as Avicii, Zedd, and Alessia Cara. Commercially, Eight debuted at number 1 on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. Eight also entered the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart at number 1.

To celebrate Eight's success, I would like to share with you guys eight reasons why IU is my girl crush. IU is one of the K-pop girls that I admire besides Girls Generation's Im Yoona and Bae Suzy. At the end of this post, I will share with you guys links to listen to and watch IU's Eight music video. So pls, read this post till the end. #1 IU Is Focus And Committed To What She Wants

I have been blogging and reading about IU. Most articles about IU that I've read before tell me that being a singer, songwriter, and actress are IU's dream since she was a child. And she stays focused on it.

In one of the Healing Camp (South Korea's TV Show) episodes, IU told the interviewer that several universities in South Korea have offered her special admission opportunities. But she turned all of them down because she wants to focus on pursuing her music and performing arts career.

"College entrance is for those who work hard for it. I won't even have time  to actually have a college life, so I will not be pursuing college education" -IU

#2 IU Never Gives Up On Her Dreams

IU's journey to success wasn't a smooth ride. She was once conned and robbed. An agency tricked her by asking her to send a large sum of money for training and appear on television. IU was more heartbroken because the money that she lost was her grandmother's savings from selling small accessories. Besides being conned and robbed, IU was once rejected during an audition. During her debut in 2008, IU did not receive a single clapped or cheered from the audience. The audience totally ignored her. In show business, being ignored is the opposite of being loved.

However, IU did not give up on her dreams. She keeps on swimming. IU's courage and hard work make her the Queen she is now.

#3 IU Strives The Best In Everything She Does

Point number 3 is one of the main reasons why IU is admired by most of her fans and fellow colleagues. She always strives for the best in everything she does - singing, songwriting, and acting. She relishes all. In Hallyu Entertainment, IU is known as one of the most talented and hardworking celebrities.

#4 Kind Is IU's Middle Name

Point number 4 is one of the main reasons why I admire IU. She believes in kindness. As a fan, I always see IU as the new Audrey Hepburn. Like Hepburn, IU also grew up in poverty, work hard to improve her life, and help others who are in need. In South Korea, IU is also known as the Donation Goddess. Besides singing, songwriting, and acting, IU loves doing charities and helping others who are in need. Reading IU's story makes me believe in kindness again.

#5 IU Appreciates Her Friends

Besides being loved by fans, IU is also loved by her fellow celebrity friends. Most of her celebrity friends mention to the media that IU is kind and appreciative of them. Most singers, musicians, actors, and actresses who have worked with her mentioned to the media that IU is very supportive and a helpful person. That's why IU's celebrity friends retain their friendship with her. She's a true friend and a friend in need.

#6 IU Appreciates Her Fans

IU fans are called Uaena. IU appreciates all the love that she receives from Uaena. She even calls her fans her friends. Not many celebrities treat their fans as friends.

#7 IU Has An Elegant Fashion Sense

We are not talking about Jang Man Weol (IU's character in Hotel Del Luna) the fashionista. We are now talking about IU herself as a fashionista. I liked IU's fashion. I think IU has an elegant fashion sense. Most of the outfits that IU wore during her concerts, fan meetings, and red carpet events are lovely, elegant, and so princess-like. I described IU's fashion as elegant yet innocent. To me, IU is one of the best dress female celebrities.

#8 IU Always Smiles

Although IU had a hard childhood and grew up in poverty, she still smiles. In fact, IU's smile is one of the prettiest smiles I have ever seen. Her smile is very sincere and heartwarming. Her smile melts everyone's heart. I believe IU's smile is one of her biggest beauty assets.
