From Scrapbooks To Blog & Storybooks: Seven Facts About Me As An Author

How's March treating you guys so far? I hope you guys are having a good month. In three days, I'll be a year older.  Yep, my birthday is on the 31st of March. Wow!!! It's so soon. So for today, I want to share another post about myself. Early this month, I already shared with you guys seven facts about me as an artist. Now, I'm going to share with you guys seven facts about me as an author.

Writing is one of my main hobbies besides drawing. Writing is my passion and heart. Like drawing, writing also allows me to express myself, share my imaginations and opinions with others. 

Ok, now let's not waste time. Here are the seven facts about me as an author.......

#1 I STARTED WRITING AT THE AGE OF 11

I started my writing hobby at the age of 11. When I was 11 years old, I love to write about myself in my diary. That's how I learned to express myself. Besides writing about myself, I also love to write short stories and short articles.

#2 I STARTED WRITING IN SCRAPBOOKS

Before I had my first diary, I love to write in scrapbooks. When I was a teenager, my mother and I love making scrapbooks together. Making and writing in scrapbooks used to be our favorite thing to do together. We made scrapbooks about ourselves, family, relatives, friends, cats, plushies, and even about our travels. Making and writing in scrapbooks is a fun activity. It is also one of the best ways to keep our memories. When I was 11 years old, I also created my own entertainment magazines. At that time, I was so influenced by Smash Hits, Top Of The Pop, TV Hits, LIME, etc. So make some scrapbooks that look like these magazines and write about my favorite celebrities in them.

#3 MY CREATIVE WRITING MENTOR IS PN. SRI DIAH

Every author needs to have a mentor or a sifu. Syukur Alhamdulillah, I have mine. My creative writing mentor is Pn. Sri Diah. Pn. Sri Diah is one of Malaysia's top authors, novelists, and editors. I got to know her in 2014. At that time, I was doing my internship at Karangkraf (one of Malaysia's top publishing companies), and Pn. Sri Diah was the chief editor at the company. Pn. Sri Diah is a very intelligent, intellectual, open-minded author. I'm grateful that she's my mentor now. Besides Pn. Sri Diah, I'm also learning creative writing from Pn. Umie Nadzimah (one of Malaysia's top novelists), and Mr. Uthaya Sandkar (one of Malaysia's top authors).

#4 I LOVE TO WRITE IN MY JOURNAL

Besides blogging and writing short stories, I also love to write in a journal. I have two journals. One, I used as a daily planner. And the other one, I used as a book to write about myself, my goals, my plans, affirmations, favorite quotes, what I learned in life, blog ideas, and stories.

#5 I ALREADY HAD THREE BOOKS PUBLISHED

One of my best achievements in life is having three books published. Syukur Alhamdulillah. I'm forever grateful for this.

As an author, I already had three books published last year - one solo book (Fadima Mooneira Book Of LTPE) and two collaboration books (Sahabat & Kari Ayam Cinta). I'm very grateful for the achievement. Syukur Alhamdulillah. I hope to publish more books this year. Insya'Allah. Aamiin.

#6 MY FOURTH BOOK IS COMING

Early this year, I enrolled for another short storybook writing project with my mentor, Pn. Sri Diah. And Insya'Allah the book will be launched soon. The book is titled Legasi Abah.  Legasi Abah is a book of short stories about fathers. The book is good for light reading. The short stories I wrote are titled Basikal Kuning (Yellow Bicycle) & My Ayah, My Superhero. This is the only information I can tell you guys about Legasi Abah at the moment. I will be sharing more information and teasers on Legasi Abah on this blog, my Writer Instagram (@mughunghwa), Facebook page (Fadima Mooneira), and Twitter (@Mooneira). #7 I DREAM & WISH TO BECOME A NOVELIST

In my WHEN MARKER-PEN MEETS PAPER: SEVEN FACTS ABOUT ME AS AN ARTIST post, I already mentioned that I have a dream to become a children's storybook illustrator. That one is for my drawing passion. I have another ambition for my writing passion. For my writing passion, I dream and wish to become a novelist. I want to become a novelist for adult romance novels. I love reading romance novels. Reading romance novels inspires me to write my own romance stories. Right now, I'm working on my first novel. I already finished writing and self-editing my manuscript. I'm now looking for an editor, beta, and proofreader, and also a good publisher to work with. I'm currently doing my survey on it. I'm also thinking about whether I should go for traditional or self-publishing. Pls, pray for me and wish me luck on this one.

Ok, so these are the seven facts about me as an author. Besides drawing, writing is also close to my heart. Although I studied Fashion Design & Marketing back in university, I always dream to have a career in the creative writing industry instead of fashion. Working in the creative writing industry makes me happier than working in the fashion industry. Working in the creative writing industry also makes me more confident and be able to be myself. Plus, I always love books. Books are one of my favorite things. When I was a kid, my parents trained me to become an avid reader. They bought me loads of books from classic literature to modern literature. My passion for reading inspires me to write and draw my own stories. That's why I want to become a novelist for adult romance novels and an illustrator for children's storybooks.
