NOVEL REVIEW: 'DIA' MY LOVE BY ZAN ZARIDA

Welcome back to Fadima Mooneira. Woah... this year's Eid Mubarak is so festive! I almost had no time to write a blog post or post something on my socmeds. However, I am grateful that I met most of my family members and even some old friends during this year's Eid. We need this festive celebration and gathering, guys. Besides this year's Eid Mubarak celebration, I'm also grateful that tonight I'm free to write this blog post. Yay!!! ^_^

Since time is precious, let's not waste it and get straight to today's objective. In today's post, I'm going to share my review of a novel I finished reading two weeks ago. The novel is titled Akad Dua Hati. It belongs to the contemporary romance genre and it is written by Zan Zarida. Now let's begin this review with Zan Zarida's bio...

Zan Zarida is one of Malaysia's best-selling authors. All of her novels belong to the contemporary romance genre. ABOUT AKAD DUA HATI

Akad Dua Hati (ADH) follows an alpha male hero named Zain Arash, and a strong-willed heroine named Miya Adeena. Arash has his eyes on Miya when he first saw her. He is willing to do everything and anything to get Miya in his arms.

At first, Miya thought Arash is weird. Arash immediately asks Miya to marry him without even having an official relationship with her. Arash tells Miya that they don't need to be in a relationship or date each other for a long period. Arash is sure and confident that his heart belongs to Miya. Miya is having a hard time believing Arash. They are not officially dating. Miya thought Arash can't be in love with her.  However, as the plot evolves, Miya starts to fall for Arash. To Miya, Arash is sweet and adorable.

However, Miya wants Arash to propose to her appropriately. So Miya returns the ring Arash gave her. But unfortunately, Miya did not leave Arash any message with the ring. So Arash does not know Miya's intention. And before Arash knows the real story, he gets involved in a tragic accident. 

Arash went into three days coma. His younger brother, Haris passed away. Haris' wife, Idayu has to be scissored to save her child. When Arash woke up, he found the ring Miya returned to him on his desk. Arash thought that Miya had rejected him. So he agrees with his parents' suggestion to marry his former sister-in-law, Idayu. 

Miya is heartbroken and moves to a new workplace. At her new workplace, Miya meets a handsome guy named Khalif Zikri. Khalif is cute, cool, adorable, and kind-hearted. He reminded Miya of Arash. Khalif likes Miya. But Miya is not ready for a new relationship.

Arash and Idayu have a happy marriage. Arash is kind to Idayu. But their happiness did not last long. Idayu is diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. And she passed away in the middle of the story. 

Arash is single again. And fate brings him back to Miya. This time, Arash vows not to lose Miya. He will do whatever it takes to win her. But unfortunately, Miya has accepted Khalif's love even though her heart still belongs to Arash. So who will win Miya in the end? Arash? or Khalif?

MY REVIEW OF AKAD DUA HATI

ADH is a very lovely, sweet, romantic, feel-good, and heartwarming contemporary romance novel to read. I absolutely love this novel a lot. Insya-Allah, I will reread it again. The plot and storyline are very intriguing. They make this novel a page-turner. I also like the characters in ADH. I believe the characters in this novel are well-crafted and they blend well with the story.

I had a crush on Zain Arash's character while I was reading ADH. Arash may be weird. But he is sweet, romantic, confident, courageous, and responsible. He is a man who knows what he wants and will go for it. He is not the type that gives up easily. I like this kind of guy ^_^ Arash also has a good character arc.  As the plot evolves, Arash grows into a more and more responsible man. He's really a great guy.

I believe Miya Adeena is one of the strongest female leads in a Bahasa Malaysia romance novel. She is kind-hearted, intelligent, bright, quick-witted, patient, sassy, and always sees the good side in everything. I absolutely love Miya's personality. She is a well-crafted heroine indeed.

Besides the characters, plot, and storyline, I also like the moral message that Zan Zarida shares in ADH. ADH is a love story about two lovers who are fated for each other. Anything that is meant to be will come to you when the time is right. All you need is patience, kindness, and sincerity just like Arash and Miya. Arash and Miya sincerely love each other. But they did not get married when they first met. They accept that they probably aren't meant for each other. And these two lovebirds were separated for one year. But because of their patience, sincerity, and kindness, fate brings them together once again.   And in the end, they achieve their happily ever after. Syukur alhamdulillah. 

I'm also happy that the author gave Khalif his own happy ending. Khalif is a very lovable character and a great guy. He deserves his own happy ending too.

After reading ADH, I now declare myself a new member of the Zan Zarida fandom. This novel is actually a gift for me from the author. Last November, I wrote a review of 'Dia' My Love (DML). DML is another feel-good romance novel by Zan Zarida. In the review, I mentioned that I want to read more of Zan Zarida's novels since I enjoyed DML so much. Two months after the review was posted, Zan Zarida found the post and read it. She was pleased and happy with my review. So she decided to give ADH to me as a thank-you gift. Syukur alhamdulillah. Besides receiving ADH as a gift, Zan Zarida and I are also friends now. We contacted each other through FB Messenger. She is a nice lady indeed. I'm grateful that we're now friends. May we be friends forever, Kan Zan. Love ya ^_^

Overall, I rate ADH 10/10. I highly recommend this novel to those who are looking for a feel-good romance read. Trust me, guys, you are going to enjoy ADH. In fact, I believe ADH is a novel all romance lovers must not miss. Hehehe ^_^

Last but not least, I also want to congratulate my friend, Syreena Jamil on designing such a lovely novel cover. Yep, she's the graphic designer for ADH. The novel cover is really lovely and stunning. Good job, sis. Keep it up ^_^
