For the first episode of 2024, I'm going to share my analysis of Josh Chen. Josh Chen is a book heartthrob created by Ana Huang for one of her bestselling novels, Twisted Hate. Now let's begin this analysis with Josh Chen's profile...
ABOUT JOSH CHEN
NAME: Josh Chen
AGE: Late 20s (27/28 years old)
NATIONALITY: Asian-American
OCCUPATION: Doctor
HIS ROLES IN THE STORY: He is the male lead & the love interest to the female lead, Jules Ambrose.
HIS GOALS: Josh always hated his sister's BFF, Jules Ambrose. To Josh, Jules was never a good girl and she was a bad influence on Ava (Josh's sister). But when Josh gets to know the real Jules Ambrose, he starts falling in love with her. He can't get her away from his mind. His feelings for Jules make him want her more than anything or anyone else. Josh is willing to do anything to get Jules in his arms.
HIS PERSONALITY
At the beginning of the story, Josh is portrayed as a very fiery, egoistical, grumpy, and nasty guy. He was harsh to Jules. He was also prejudiced against Jules. And he was even a nasty love machine. I don't like the way Josh treated Jules at the beginning of the story.
But as the plot evolves, Josh transforms into a loving, caring, and protective guy. I like the way he cares for Jules. I also like the way he protects her. Josh is actually a very protective hero. He is also very protective of his younger sister, Ava. When Josh Chen loves someone, he loves the person deeply. Auwww!!!
HIS PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
Josh is charming and attractive. He has the Asian-hunk look. He is tall and masculine. He has an Asian-bronze skin tone, dark hair, and dark almond-shaped eyes.
When I was reading Twisted Hate, I imagined Malaysian-Australian actor, Remy Hii as Josh. Like Josh, Remy also has the Asian-hunk look. Plus, Remy is charismatic, charming, and suave. Remy has the suave-boy-next-door look. So Remy is the perfect actor to be cast as Josh Chen ^_^
HIS BACKSTORY
Despite his absolute confidence and charm, Josh Chen also has a dark past. Growing up, Josh admired his father, Micheal Chen. But turns out his father happened to be a psycho. Micheal secretly killed his wife. He even tried to hurt and kill Ava. And because of Micheal, Ava was once scared of water.
At the end of Twisted Love (the first book in Ana Huang's Twisted series), Micheal went to prison after Ava's boyfriend, Alex Volkov revealed his secret. The truth hurt Josh badly. Josh was angry and devastated with his father. Josh refused to forgive his father. He even tried to disown his toxic father.
MY OVERALL REVIEW OF THE CHARACTER
When I first read Twisted Hate, I did not like Josh Chen's character. It's because Josh was too grumpy, ego, nasty, and gloomy. I don't understand why he was so prejudiced against Jules and assumed she was a bad influence on Ava.
But as the plot evolves, Josh transforms into a loving, caring, and protective guy, and I start to like him. When the author unfolds Josh's backstory, I begin to understand why Josh was so grumpy and nasty at the beginning of the story.
Overall, I believe Josh Chen is a character well-crafted by Ana Huang. Josh is also a make-believe character. He has his strengths and flaws. However, I need to be honest, that I didn't have a crush on Josh Chen when I was reading Twisted Hate. And he is not my favorite Ana Huang hero. But still, this character is okay to me. And I do believe he is lovable to other Ana Huang fans. Hehehe ^_^
Okay, so this is my analysis of Josh Chen from Ana Huang's Twisted Hate. Twisted Hate is the third book in Ana Huang's Twisted series. Twisted Hate belongs to the new adult romance genre. Twisted Hate is a very exciting novel to read. I highly recommend Ana Huang's Twisted series to fellow bookworms who are into the new adult romance genre. But to be honest, all Twisted novels are very spicy and not suitable for those who are under 18.

My favorite book in Ana Huang's Twisted series is the fourth one, Twisted Lies. And my favorite Twisted hero is Christian Harper. He is the hero in Twisted Lies ^_^

DeleteEnemies to lovers' plot is one the best for romantic books. I find books like this to be more interesting when they have this type of plot. Especially when there is character development.
