MEMPERKENALKAN SARANGHAEYO NAMSAN (NOVEL KEDUA FADIMA MOONEIRA)

Welcome back to Fadima Mooneira. In my previous post, I promised to share my upcoming novel with you guys. So here it is. Yay!!! Hope you guys are feeling excited to check it out ^_^

The novel is titled Saranghaeyo Namsan (SN). I already unveiled SN on my author's page, F.Mooneira's Bookshelf. So now, I'm going to share it on this blog as well. SN will be published on the 16th of May 2024. So mark your calendar, guys. This novel will be selling at RM35.00 per book. SN is going to be my second novel after Fail Merah. This novel will also be the third product produced by Fadneira Imaginative Empire. Overall, SN is going to be my 10th book. Besides novels, I also have written one solo book, one zine, and 6 collaboration books.

SN belongs to the new adult romance, romantic comedy, slice-of-life, and josei genre. The story follows a Malaysian girl named Maya Juhara. Maya dreams of becoming a historical romance author just like Jane Austen and Lisa Kleypas. But unfortunately, she has no inspiration until one unexpected discovery.

Maya moves to Seoul, South Korea to get more inspiration. In Seoul, Maya works at a lively and vibrant library cafe. At the cafe, Maya meets a handsome alpha male named Haikal Kim Eun Seop. Haikal is Maya's employer. 

Maya does not like Haikal at the beginning of the story. To Maya, Haikal is an arrogant narcissistic brat. He always thinks he's all that. But later, Maya discovers the real Haikal Kim. He is not so arrogant after all. And they begin to develop romantic feelings for each other...

SN has been labeled as a copyright reserve. This novel was edited and proofread by Ji Karty Hasry. The cover was designed by Dawid Enoch. Dawid Enoch is also the designer who designed Fail Merah cover. His works are superbly amazing. If you're interested in Dawid Enoch's works, check out his TikTok @dawidenoch.

SN has different vibes compared to Fail Merah. Fail Merah is more of a melodrama romance. But SN is more of a feel-good and healing love story. The storyline and plot are not heavy. This novel is going to be a fast and easy read. It's definitely good for light reading. The story is also more commercial. For SN, I used the cute-meet-cute, enemies to lovers, destiny, and love triangle trope.

Since I just shared some introduction on SN, now let me share the five fun facts about the novel...

#1 PRIDE & PREJUDICE AND BUSINESS PROPOSAL ARE THE MAIN INSPIRATION FOR SN

I'm a big fan of Jane Austen, and Pride & Prejudice is one of my all-time favorite books. I'm also a fan of the Business Proposal webtoon series. I love the webtoon series as much as I love the K-drama series. These two stories give audiences a feel-good feeling and positive vibes. After writing Fail Merah, I decided to take a break from writing melodramas. I want to write a romantic comedy. So that's why I choose SN to be a rom-com and make my two favorite stories an inspiration.

#2 THE SETTING OF THE STORY IS 50%  IN KUALA LUMPUR AND 50% IN SEOUL

Since SN is an intercultural story, I chose Kuala Lumpur and Seoul as the main settings. Maya Juhara is from Kuala Lumpur. Haikal Kim is from Seoul. Besides Kuala Lumpur and Seoul, there are also scenes set in Sabah and Jeju Island.

#3 HAIKAL KIM IS MODELED AFTER AHN HYO SEOP

After watching Business Proposal in 2022, I got swooned by Korean-Canadian actor, Ahn Hyo Seop. In Business Proposal, Ahn Hyo Seop played the male lead, Kang Taemu. Ahn Hyo Seop was so handsome, suave, charming, and charismatic in that drama. He played the character so well. I had a massive crush on Ahn Hyo Seop while watching Business Proposal. Since SN is a rom-com, I decided to create my male lead after Ahn Hyo Seop. Plus, Ahn Hyo Seop has an aplha male image. He suits Haikal Kim. Hehehe ^_^

#4 SN WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MY FIRST NOVEL

Be calm, guys. Fact no.4 is going to shock you. SN was supposed to be my first novel instead of Fail Merah. The manuscript was first written in 2012. At that time, I was pursuing my MBA at UKM. The first SN manuscript was sent to two publishing houses. But unfortunately, both publishing houses rejected it. However, I did not want to give up on my dreams and put my hard work into the drain. So after I published Fail Merah back in 2022, I decided to revise SN. I modified the manuscript according to the story trend now. And yes, the first manuscript was different compared to the one I'm going to publish now. In the first manuscript, there was no library cafe, and Haikal Kim was only known as Kim Eun Seop. In fact, the title was not Saranghaeyo Namsan in the first manuscript. 

#5 CHARACTERS FROM MY PREVIOUS STORIES MADE THEIR CAMEOS IN SN

Even though my novels are standalone, I still created my own universe for my stories. So the characters in my stories are connected. FYI, Maya Juhara is cousins with Fail Merah's female lead, Dahlia Jamilah. So Dahlia made 3 cameos in SN. Besides Dahlia, Fail Merah's male lead, Emil Muhayat also made his cameo in my upcoming novel. And male lead in my short story, Pretty Pink Garden, Wilson Cho also made one cameo in SN. Plus, his florist cafe is also featured in the story. 

Okay, so these are the five fun facts about Saranghaeyo Namsan. This novel is geared towards bookworms, foodies, music lovers, fashionistas, rom-com & K-drama addicts. SN is written in Bahasa Malaysia.
