NOVEL REVIEW: THINGS WE NEVER GOT OVER BY LUCY SCORE

Eiyo Fadneiras,

Fadima is back with another novel review. For this entry, I will share my review of Lucy Score's Things We Never Got Over. Now let's check out the author's bio...

ABOUT LUCY SCORE

Lucy Score ~ the woman who never gives up on her dreams ^_^ (Image: purposelyunperfect.com)

Lucy Score is an American novelist. She was born on the 30th of January 1980. She is the eldest child of three siblings. Score fell in love with romance fiction at the age of 13.

This bestselling new adult romance author began her writing career as a journalist. After quitting her job, Score decided to take the unemployment opportunity to attempt to write a novella. Her first novella was self-published. Not long after Score self-published her novella, two indie authors who had started their own publishing company stumbled across it. They deemed it “not bad.” And they offered Score to republish the novella if she turned it into a full-length novel. Score agreed to that offer and the rest was history.

Score novels include Undercover Love, No More Secrets, Fall Into Temptation, The Last Second Chance, Crossing The Line, Breaking The Rules, Where It All Begin, Holding On To Chaos, etc.

ABOUT THINGS WE NEVER GOT OVER

Things We Never Got Over (TWNGO) belongs to the new adult romance genre. This novel carries the tropes from enemies to lovers, bad-boy-innocent-girl romance. The story follows Knox Morgan and Noami Witt.

Knox Morgan is a bad-boy barber. Knox is also an anti-social kind of person. He likes to live his life alone. As long as he has his basset hound, Waylon by his side, that's ok for him. Knox also doesn't tolerate dramas. And along comes a stranded runaway bride named Naomi.

Naomi Witt isn't just running away from her wedding. She is also rescuing her twin sister, Tina. Too bad for Naomi her evil twin hasn't changed at all. Tina steals Naomi's car and cash. Tina runs away and leaves Naomi with something unexpected: a niece she didn't know existed. Oh dear!

Now Naomi is stuck in Knockemout with no car, no money, no job, no plan, and no home. Double oh dear! She also has an eleven-year-old niece to take care of. Triple oh dear!

When Naomi and Knox first meet, he has no interest in helping her. Knox is not the kind of guy who wants to be near a good girl. A girl in a floral sundress is definitely not his type. But somehow he can't let Naomi be forever in trouble. So Knox helps Naomi out of her jam.

But Noami's troubles did not just end there. Later in the story, Naomi finds out she has a stalker. Another oh dear! Who could the stalker be? And what does the stalker want from Naomi?

MY REVIEW OF THINGS WE NEVER GOT OVER

First of all, this novel is a very enjoyable read. The romance genre is always my cup of tea. Hehehe ^_^ But I also like Score's writing style for this novel. It's very catchy and easy to visualize the story. I also like all the character dialogues in the story. All are very trendy and spicy. Ngehehe ^_^

This story also has an interesting plot and storyline. Every chapter ends with 'What's Next?' This book is definitely a page-turner and a fast read. I also like the characters that Score created for her story. All the characters in TWNGO are make-believe people. They are not perfect. They all have strengths, flaws, and struggles. And I definitely like Knox and Naomi's intense chemistry.

Overall, I rate this novel 9/10. I really enjoyed reading TWNGO. TWNGO is the first Lucy Score novel that I've read. Reading this novel makes me want to check out more of Lucy Score's works. TWNGO belongs to the Knockemout series. Since I enjoyed this novel a lot, I'm planning to read the other two novels in the series. Hehehe ^_^

I highly recommend my fellow bookworms to check out TWNGO by Lucy Score, especially those who are into the new adult romance genre. Trust me, guys, you are going to enjoy this novel. But I also need to be honest that most character dialogues in this novel are very adult. This novel also has more than five spicy scenes. So it is not suitable for those who are under 18. Huhuhu...

Okay, so this is my review of Lucy Score's Things We Never Got Over. Has anyone read Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score? If yes, what are your opinions of Knox and Naomi's intense chemistry? And is anyone here a fan of Lucy Score? If yes, what Lucy Score novels would you recommend to me besides the Knockemout series? Feel free to share your opinions and recommendations in the comment box below.

Okay, this is all for now. Thank you for reading my review. I'll see you guys again in my next post. Insya-Allah ^_^

XoXo,

Fadima Mooneira ^_^

  1. Haven't read a romance in a while, I'm more a non fiction type of readers but this sounds intriguing.

  5. Never heard of Lucy Score before, so I'm totally unfamiliar with her. However, I do love a good romance book, and I'll have to stick her on my list :) I think she's found herself in a tricky situation, and I'd be interested to see how things might turn out :)
