Harriet only agrees to Wilbur's offer when he invites her best friend, Nat to participate in the Infinity Models recruitment audition. Nat loves fashion. And she always dreams of having a career in the fashion industry. But unfortunately, only Harriet passes the audition. Poor Nat.

Harriet signs a contract with Infinity Models without Nat knowing. Harriet still has no interest in modeling. She only wants to change her fate. She wants to show Lexi and her posse that she is not the girl they can easily bully. Yep, Harriet is a different girl now. She's soon going to be one of London's IT girls. Yay!

At Infinity Models, Harriet meets a handsome male model named Nick Park. They became friends. After experiencing loads of fashion shows, galas, and photoshoots, Harriet realizes that she actually loves modeling. And this could be the right path for her...

MY THOUGHTS ON GEEK GIRL

Firstly, I'm glad I binge-watched this drama series. For me, Geek Girl is more than just a chic drama series even though the main premise is fashion.

Geek Girl is a story about self-discovery and coming of age. As we age, our lives change. And as our lives change, our dreams change as well. But not everyone knows what their dreams are. And we all don't know if our dreams are meant to be for us. That's why we must be brave to go sailing without a map. Nothing is right. Nothing is wrong. Just try your luck. This is what I did before I realized my dream of becoming a writer. Hehehe ^_^

Even though Geek Girl takes place in the fashion industry, the story does not only highlight the glamour side of it. The story shows us the pros and cons of the fashion industry. Yep, fashion is always a bitchy industry. There are so many fakers and those who think they are all that. Hahaha... I used to work in the fashion industry when I was in my 20s. And I experienced almost all the things that Harriet experienced in Geek Girl. Huhuhu...

Fashion is actually a fun and interesting subject to study. But unfortunately, most people treat it as a glamour thingy instead of art. Fashion is not 100% glamour, guys. It's art. Plus, fashion is not only for rich and glamorous people. Fashion is for everyone. Because of the glamour word, people in fashion had a hard time being and expressing themselves. They are too scared people will judge them.  Everyone tries to be perfect and flawless in fashion. Those who fail to be perfect and flawless will be called dweep. Oh, that sucks! Just sharing my experience, guys. And you guys can see this example in Yuji Lee's character. She's scared of being judged. And this makes her appear aloof. Uhuuuu...

Taadaa... one of my fashion sketches. Just sharing, guys ^_^ (Image: My Artstagram @fmooneira_art)

However, I'm glad the writer makes Harriet a game-changer in the fashion industry. I don't want to give spoilers. But it's awesome how the writer makes Harriet change the game of fashion. She makes some people realize what they did is wrong. It's toxic to others and themselves. Harriet also makes Yuji Lee and Wilbur Evans discover themselves and their dreams.

Overall, Geek Girl is a very enjoyable drama series to binge-watch. I'm now looking forward to season 2. Season 1 is just the beginning of Harriet's modeling journey. I can't wait to see how Harriet changes the game further. Don't become a follower, guys. Be a game-changer. You guys got what it takes, especially those who are creative and imaginative. If you can dream it, you can do it. Last but not least, I rate this drama series 10/10. And I highly recommend this drama for you guys to binge-watch. Trust me, guys, Geek Girl is a must not miss drama.

Okay, so these are my thoughts on Geek Girl. This drama is hot on Netflix now. So here's another reason why you must not miss it. Hehehe ^_^ So has anyone here watched Geek Girl? If yes, what are your opinions of the drama? Do you think Harriet Manners is an inspiring character? Hehehe... feel free to share your thoughts in the comment box below.

  1. This series sounds like a wonderful show. I love how Harriet changes the game of fashion because it is one of the most toxic industries in the world. That is something I would like to see in screen and in real life.

  4. I haven't heard of this show before, but I do like shows set during high school like Glee and 13 Reasons why, so maybe I'll give this one a try. I do like the message though of the geeky girl getting the modelling contract. I'll have to give it a try :)

  6. That's such a good point: fashion IS art, or at least it should be. Not sure if we can put fast fashion in that category though. This series sounds super cute and I love a show that also has "a point" to it.

    1. Fashion is art. It’s about creativity and expressing ourselves. The word glamour ruins everything for fashion.
