ABOUT BLACK GHOST #MEGATADRI

Black Ghost #MegatAdri belongs to the espionage thriller genre. The story follows a young man named Megat Adri.

Young, enthusiastic, and passionate Megat Adri dreams of following his late grandfather's and father's footsteps. He wants to join the Malaysian military and become a commando. Megat's mother disagrees with his decision. But the loving mother does not want to stop her son's dream.

Right after graduating from college, Megat went for his military training. He succeeds and achieves his green barret with flying colors. Yay for Megat! And so Megat's life as a young commando begins...

Before being a commando, Megat thought owning a green barret was challenging. However, retaining it is way more challenging. Being a commando means Megat is part of the nation's intelligence. From now on, everything about Megat has to be covert and clandestine. His identity and job must not be revealed to the public.

Besides being covert and clandestine, Megat also has to be loyal to his country. His body and soul belong to Malaysia. Work will always come first for Megat. Megat has to put his family, love life, and personal interests aside.

Yes, being a commando is very challenging. But what's more challenging is that Megat is also wanted by the communists. Oh-oh! Why do the communists want Megat? And will Megat survive?

MY REVIEW OF BLACK GHOST #MEGATADRI

This espionage thriller is a very exciting and thrilling read. It has a lot of mysteries in it. And the pace is very fast. I love thriller stories with fast pacing. Now this is what I call a thriller novel. Hehehe ^_^

Black Ghost #MegatAdri is a page-turner indeed. Every chapter ends with a question mark. It makes you wonder what is going to happen next? So what is in store for Megat and his fellow Black Ghosts? Once you open this novel, you will have a hard time putting it down.

Besides the pacing, I also like Lily Haslina's writing style for this novel. Her writing style is simple and easy for me to visualize the story. She describes every scene well and precise. As a person with zero military background, reading Black Ghost #MegatAdri gives me knowledge about military life. Military life is quite exciting. But still, I don't want to be a soldier. I'm just not born for it. Hahaha :P

Other than military and intelligence, Black Ghost #MegatAdri is also about friendship, brotherhood, patriotism, and integrity. Btw, I believe these are the four moral values every soldier must have in them besides just being brave, strong, and looking good in uniforms. Hehehe ^_^

Reading Black Ghost #MegatAdri gives me Band Of Brothers deja vu. And I like the way Lily Haslina portrays Megat's friendship with his Black Ghost buddies and love interest, Mawar. But I do wish Lily Haslina would make Megat's and Mawar's relationship more passionate and swooning. Oh well, this is not a romance novel. What am I talking about? Ngehehe ^_^

Overall, I rate this novel 9/10. I absolutely enjoy reading Black Ghost #MegatAdri. This book makes a good read for the patriotic month. I also highly recommend my fellow book buddies to check out Black Ghost #MegatAdri by Lily Haslina Nasir. Guys, if you're looking for an espionage thriller and a patriotic story to read, this is the novel you should add to your TBR. Trust me, Lily Haslina Nasir won't disappoint you at all.

However, I need to be honest that this story has some violent scenes in it. So I believe it is not suitable for teenagers under 18 years old.

Okay, so this is my review of Lily Haslina Nasir's Black Ghost #MegatAdri. FYI, Black Ghost #MegatAdri belongs to a duology series. The second book from this series is titled, Black Ghost #UmarAlhaidar ~ it's a story about Megat Adri's best friend, Umar. Black Ghost #UmarAlhaidar is written by Rose Harissa. I am reading the novel right now and enjoying it. Insya-Allah, when I finish reading Black Ghost #UmarAlhaidar I will share my review of it on this blog as well. So stay tuned.

So has anyone read Black Ghost #MegatAdri? If yes, what are your opinions of this novel? Did you enjoy the story?

Okay, this is all for now. Salam Merdeka and Happy Independence Day to my Malaysian friends. Wish you guys a good celebration ^_^

XoXo,
