The book heartthrob profile is back on Fadima Mooneira. Hooray! For this month's episode, I will feature a very swoon-worthy hero that will melt your heart for sure. Hehehe ^_^ He's romantic and kind-hearted. He is now listed as one of my all-time favorite book heartthrobs. This swoon-worthy character is created by one of my all-time favorite authors. He is Tom Severin from Chasing Cassandra by Lisa Kleypas. Yay!!! Now let's begin this analysis with Tom Severin's profile...

HIS ROLES IN THE STORY: He is the male lead and also the love interest to the female lead/protagonist, Lady Cassandra Ravenel.
HIS GOALS:
Tom Severin has everything that all men dream of ~ wealth, power, and good looks. The only thing that is missing in Tom Severin's life is a wife. And since Tom Severin is the man who has it all, finding the perfect wife won't be hard for him. Well, that's what most people believe.
At the beginning of the story, Tom wants to find a wife and sire an heir. This is his goal. Tom only wants a wife. But he is not looking for love. From his first glimpse of Lady Casssandra, he is determined to have her. But the beautiful and quick-witted Cassandra wishes to marry for love. Love is the only thing that Tom believes he can't give Cassandra.
So what will Tom Severin do to win Cassandra's heart? Will he open his heart for love? Will Tom learn the true meaning of love?

HIS PERSONALITY
Tom Severin is portrayed as a fine gentleman with a sentimental heart. He is kind-hearted, sensitive, gentle, romantic, loving, and caring. He's very sweet and swoon-worthy indeed. Reading Chasing Cassandra makes me fall in love with this character. In fact, I'm still in love with Tom now. And I still have a Chasing Cassandra hangover. Hehehe ^_^
Besides his sweet personality, Tom is also portrayed by the author as a very hard-working and responsible man. Tom is also charismatic and has good leadership in him.
But Tom has an abandonment issue. The abandonment issue makes Tom refuse to be the man he is. He tells everyone and even himself that he is a frozen-hearted man. So sad. Umm...we'll discuss Tom's abandonment issue in his backstory...
HIS PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
The author gives Tom Severin stunning and perfect visuals. His handsomeness is out of this world. Tom is tall and all-masculine. He has sharp features. His skin is fair. His hair is dark. Tom has the most unique eye color ever. One of his eyes is blue in color, and one is green in color. Wow!!! Stunning!
HIS BACKSTORY
Tom Severin is not from a wealthy family. His family was poor. When Tom was only a boy, his father took him to a railway station and told him to get a job there. Tom did what his father told him to do. And he did get a job at the railway station.
Tom shared the good news with his father. His father was happy for him. But later the old man bought himself a one-way ticket and hopped on the train. Tom's father never returned to his family. When Tom told his mother what happened, his mother scolded him and even blamed him for it. And his sisters blamed him too. Poor Tom.
And because there were too many fingers pointing at him, Tom also blamed himself for being a bad egg. Since the day his father left, Tom believe that love doesn't exist. Love is just an illusion. People will always change and leave. Sigh.
Tom Severin grows up and becomes a successful railway magnate because of his hard work. He is grateful for his successful career. But he still faces downs in his life. All the downs that Tom faces make him more and more sensitive. He always blames himself for his downs even though not everything is his fault.
As the story evolves, Tom and Cassandra fall harder for each other. The more they meet, the more they desire each other. Plus, they also learn about each other. Cassandra discovers that Tom is not a frozen-hearted man after all. He is actually a kind-hearted, romantic, and sensitive man. It was his past that made him frozen-hearted. Only sincere love and kindness can save Tom Severin...
MY OVERALL REVIEW OF THE CHARACTER
I believe Tom Severin is one of the best book heartthrobs created by Lisa Kleypas. Lisa Kleypas is the best author when it comes to crafting romantic characters and dreamy heroes.
Tom Severin is not just swoon-worthy. He is also a make-believe character. I can strongly relate this character to a real person. There are men like Tom Severin in this world~ man who are naturally kind-hearted but refuse to be due to his past.
Tom's backstory makes me sympathize with him and love him even more. I cried a lot when I was reading Chasing Cassandra. This heartwarming healing love story really touches my heart.
Tom Severin is not frozen-hearted at all. He is abandoned and neglected by his parents. And it was not fair that his mother and sisters blamed him for what happened. It was not Tom's fault. His father was irresponsible. His mother and sisters should be grateful that Tom is nothing like his father. Tom is hard-working and a very responsible man. His family should praise him for that.
Other than his backstory, I like that Lisa Kleypas portrays Tom as a gentleman with a sentimental heart. It makes him very swoon-worthy. Tom Severin is a very beautiful character indeed. I also like that Tom is loving, caring, sensitive, romantic, hard-working, responsible, and protective. Tom Severin is more of a sigma hero than an alpha hero. Btw, I like Sigma males more than alpha males these days. Hehehe ^_^
Okay, so this is my analysis of Tom Severin. He is a swoon-worthy book heartthrob created by my favorite historical romance author, Lisa Kleypas for her bestselling novel, Chasing Cassandra. For those who haven't read Chasing Cassandra by Lisa Kleypas, I highly recommend you guys check out the novel. Chasing Cassandra is one of the best novels I've read this year. I love the story a lot. It's so swoon-worthy, heartwarming, and healing. Reading Chasing Cassandra will make you believe in love, kindness, sincerity, and being with someone special. It taught you the real definition of love. To me, love is about embracing each other imperfections.
