Rose Harissa is a Malaysian novelist and illustrator born in Kuantan, Pahang. Contemporary romance is her genre. Rose Harissa has a Diploma in Architecture Design from UTM, Skudai, Johor. Before she became a writer, Rose Harissa used to work at an architecture firm.
Rose Harissa ventured into the creative writing industry during the year 2003. She started writing and contributing articles to magazines and newspapers. In 2007, Rose Harissa realized her dreams and passion for creative writing. So she quit her job and began her creative writing journey.

ABOUT BLACK GHOST #UMARALHAIDAR
Black Ghost #UmarAlhaidar is an espionage thriller novel with a mixture of romance. This novel belongs to the Black Ghost duology series. Black Ghost #UmarAlhaidar is the second novel after Black Ghost #MegatAdri.
The story follows Megat Adri's best friend, Umar Alhaidar. Like Megat, Umar also dreams of becoming a commando. After graduating from college, Umar went for his military training and test. He passed the training and test with flying colors and owned a green barret. Yay, Umar!!!
After owning a green barret, Umar went for his first posting at Sungai Udang. That's where he meets Megat. They are roommates. During his first posting, Umar learns that maintaining his green barret is way more challenging than owning it. He is given a lot of tests to prove that he is loyal to his country. Alhamdulillah, Umar passed all tests with flying colors.
Being a commando means Umar is part of the Malaysian military. Being in the military means Umar is part of Malaysian intelligence and security. This means Umar has to put his country first before himself, his family, his love life, and his personal interests.
Since becoming a commando, Umar believes that danger and death are always near him. Therefore, Umar tries to put romance away from his life until he meets Mikanadira (Mika). During their first meeting, Umar thought everything was just a coincidence. The same goes during their second meeting. But after their third meeting, Umar starts to believe that Mika is his destiny.
Umar tries to win Mika's heart even though he knows it's not going to be easy for him. As a commando, balancing love life and work is very challenging. Will Umar be able to balance his love life and work? Will he win Mika? Are they meant to be together?
MY REVIEW OF BLACK GHOST #UMARALHAIDAR
Like the first novel in the duology series, this one is also a page-turner and an intriguing read. All chapters end with 'What happens next?'. Once you open this novel, you will have a hard time putting it down. This novel is a fast read indeed.
Like the first novel, Black Ghost #UmarAlhaidar also provides me knowledge of military life. Yes, military life is exciting. But still, it's not for me. Hehehe :P
Thirdly, I like this novel better than the first one. I also like Umar's character better than Megat. To me, Umar is more of a make-believe character. I also like the character development of Umar Alhaidar. At the beginning of the story, the author portrays Umar as a clumsy young soldier and not so lucky. But Umar is courageous and enthusiastic. He wants to do well as a soldier. So he works hard to achieve all the things that he is capable of.
As the plot evolves, Umar becomes a very responsible person. But he remains cheerful and playful when he is not on the field. The author also made Umar a man with morals, discipline, and integrity. Plus, Umar is also kind-hearted, caring, and swoon-worthy.
Besides Umar's swoon-worthy character, I also like his chemistry with Mika. Umar and Mika have strong and intense chemistry. Their chemistry tension make the story alive. The story becomes more intriguing than it already is. It makes you want to know if they are destiny for each other. Will they end up together?
Reading Black Ghost #UmarAlhaidar gives me Descendants Of The Sun (a 2016 K-drama starring Song Joong Ki & Song Hye Kyo) deja vu. Like the first novel, this novel also taught me about bravery, sincerity, integrity, friendship, brotherhood, and love.
Overall, I rate this novel 10/10. I absolutely enjoy Black Ghost #Umaralhaidar. I love it more than Black Ghost #MegatAdri. I highly recommend this novel to my fellow bookworms who are looking for a swoon-worthy espionage thriller. Black Ghost #UmarAlhaidar is perfect for you guys. Hehehe ^_^
However, I need to be honest that this novel has some disturbing violent scenes in it. It is not suitable for those who are under 18. Chapter 23 was very disturbing for me. It almost makes me want to DNF this novel. But I'm glad I did not DNF it. This novel is so awesome. It will be a waste if I DNF it.
