Eiyo beautiful Fadneiras,

Welcome back to my blog. Yesterday, I shared one new post on my author's website. It's regarding my experience participating in the Selangor International Book Fair 2024. So feel free to check it out on >> FADIMA MOONEIRA @ SIBF 2024

Okay, let's continue with today's objective. In today's post, I will share reviews of books I read in December 2024. So here it is...

THE STORY

The story follows a vampire girl named Misery Lark and a werewolf named Lowe Moreland. Misery is the only daughter of the most powerful Vampyre councilman of the Southwest. She is also an outcast in her clan. It's because she is good with humans. Misery's father wants her to uphold a historic peacekeeping alliance between the Vampyres and their mortal enemies, the Weres. Misery has no choice. She has to obey her father's wishes.

It's not going to be easy for the Vampyres to make peace with the Weres. The Weres are ruthless and unpredictable, and so is Lowe Moreland. Lowe rules with absolute authority as the Alpha of his pack, but not without justice. That is different from the Vampyres. And Lowe doesn't trust Misery even though he agrees to form a union with her.

Misery has her reasons to agree to this marriage of convenience. Her reasons have nothing to do with politics or alliances. The reason is personal and Misery is willing to do whatever it takes to get back what’s hers, even if it means being the only Vampyre in Were territory.

MY REVIEW OF BRIDE

Bride is the first novel by Ali Hazelwood I read. The storyline and plot are interesting and unique, different from all the stories I've read before. This book is quite a page-turner. Most chapters end with, 'What's next?

The vampire and werewolf concept that Ali Hazelwood created for this novel makes the story more enjoyable to read. I also like Ali Hazelwood's writing style for this novel. It's very sharp and precise.

Overall, this book is an enjoyable read. I rate this novel 8/10 and highly recommend it to my fellow bookworms who are into the romantasy and paranormal romance genre. However, I do need to be honest that there are some spicy scenes in the story. So Bride is not suitable for those who are under 18 years old.

THE STORY

The Striker is the first book in Ana Huang's The Gods Of The Game series. The story follows a former prima ballerina named Scarlett DuBois and a football superstar named Asher Donovan.

Asher Donavan is the GOAT and darling of the English Premier League. His recent team transfer creates controversy. And his reckless antics during the last match of the season cause Blackcastle to lose the championship. Asher is forced to take ballet lessons during the whole summer. It's a punishment for him.

Scarlett DuBois is appointed to teach Asher ballet. Scarlett is a very beautiful woman. But she's the sister of Asher's enemy-turned-teammate, Vincent DuBois. Falling in love with Scarlett is completely a no no no for Asher. Both Asher and Scarlett are suffering from their traumatic past and self-doubt. Meeting each other gives them epiphany. And love leads them to a self-discovery journey.

MY REVIEW OF THE STRIKER

To me, The Striker is the best Ana Huang novel I read. This story is not just about a fairytale romance about a hopeless romantic girl with an alpha male. It's also about unconditional love, deep soul-level love, spiritual awakening, and self-discovery journey

The Striker has a deeper meaning compared to all of Ana Huang's novels I've read before. It makes the story more enjoyable to read. The characters in The Striker are all make-believe people. I also like the way the author portrays Scarlett and Asher's chemistry. It is so undeniable. This book is also a fast read and page-turner indeed. All chapters end with 'What's next?'. As usual, Ana Huang's writing style is always awesome.

Overall, I rate this book 10/10. I highly recommend The Striker to my fellow bookworms who are into the new adult romance genre and looking for something sporty to read. Hehehe ^_^ However, I need to be honest that there are some spicy scenes in the story.  This novel is not suitable for those who are under 18 years old.

THE STORY

Be Kind, Rewind tells the story of a reluctant Time Traveller and Si Tanggang’s own descendant named Tuan Sulaiman Seroja (Seroja). The story takes place in a fantasy world called Bulan Region. The Tuans (Seroja's family) are one of the wealthiest families in the Bulan Region. Seroja may not be as great as her family members are. She is born slow-witted and has no talent. But she has a special gift that her family members did not have. Kindness.

Seroja is given a task to change the fate of Anak Permatas (superior beings in the Bulan Region) and her own as well. Be Kind, Rewind is a story of time traveling, atonement, and prophecies, set in a world inspired by Malaysia’s complex history, folklore, and mystical creatures.

MY REVIEW OF BE KIND, REWIND

This book is a very enjoyable and exciting read. The plot, premise, and storyline are so unique. This author has a very brilliant imagination. I like the world-building of the Bulan Region. The Bulan Region is so rich with mystical creatures and Malay folklore. But the world is modern instead of ancient. Technologies that are available in this world are also available in Bulan Region. This makes the Bulan Region enchanting and trendy. It makes me want to be there. Hehehe ^_^

Besides the world-building, I also like the characters in this story. My favorite character is Seroja. I believe she's a very inspiring character. Even though she begins as a slow-witted person, she's still courageous and a go-getter. And most important she is kind and strongly believes in kindness. Kindness is Seroja's best quality. And I do believe kindness is the message Farah Liyana wants her readers to bring home. Being kind is more important than being powerful, rich, smart, and talented. I strongly agree with the message. Overall, I rate this book 9/10 and highly recommend it to fellow bookworms who are fantasy addicts. This is a book you must not miss guys ^_^

THE STORY

The Notebook is Nicholas Sparks's debut novel and it was first published in October 1996. The story takes place in New Bern, North Carolina after World War II. The story follows Noah Calhoun, a 31-year-old man who recently returned to New Bern from the war. Noah builds his dream home while waiting for the beautiful girl he met fourteen years earlier to return to him. She is a girl he loves like no other. Noah has high hopes that his first love will return to him one day. He is not giving up on her although he has not heard from her since she left town 14 years ago.

Allie Nelson, a 29-year-old socialite is about to marry a wealthy lawyer. But she can't stop thinking about the boy who stole her heart 14 years ago. One day, Allie finds out about the house that Noah built from a local newspaper. So she returns to New Bern just to meet her first love once again. Is Allie back in Noah's life for good?

The answer is yes. Noah and Allie tie the knot not long after they reunite. And that is where their story begins. Noah and Allie live a long happy life together. They have five children. They raise their children together and watch them grow up. As Noah and Allie grow old together, they are tested by God once again. Allie is diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Her condition gets worse. But Noah still loves her. He is always in love with her no matter what. And Allie always loves Noah as well even though there are times she does not remember him and the good times they had together.

The Notebook is not just a fairytale romance story. It's a romantic story with deep meaning. It's a heartwarming story about unconditional love. As the story unfolds, their tale becomes a legend that creates miracles and makes us believe in true love...

MY REVIEW OF THE NOTEBOOK

To be honest, this is not my first time reading The Notebook. I first read this book back in 2007. I was still too young to understand unconditional love at that time. Lately, I've been researching and learning about unconditional love. And what I learned motivates me to reread The Notebook. Btw, I'm glad that I followed my intuition. I enjoy and appreciate the story more now.

The story touched my heart deeply. Love has three levels: mind, heart, and soul. If two people fall in love at the mind level, their love is going to be temporary. But if two people fall in love at the heart level, their love is going to last a lifetime. And if two people fall in love at the soul level, their love will be eternal. Their love will become a legend and inspiration to their future generations. But it's very rare for two people to fall in love at the soul level. That's why love at the soul level is a miracle.

It touches my heart that Noah never gives up on Allie. First, he waited for her to return to him for fourteen years. Towards the end of the story, he waits for her again. Noah also helps Allie to gain back her memory of them by writing their story in a notebook. And he reads the story to her every day. That is so sweet ^_^

Rereading The Notebook gives me a new definition of the knight-in-shining-armor term. Yes, the knight in shining armor is not just a man who is strong and mighty. He is a man who loves a woman deeply and unconditionally. He is a man who never gives up on the woman he loves no matter how many tangerines life gives him.

Rereading The Notebook makes me strongly believe in true love. Sharing an adventure with your true love is beautiful. But still, your adventure won't be a smooth sailing one. True love will always be tested. It takes a lot of patience and courage. Like all wise people said, true love only happens to good and strong people. So guys, if you want to be with or find your true love, be good and strong like Noah and Allie. Be kind and have the courage to face the storms together. I believe these are the messages that Nicholas Sparks wants his readers to bring home.

The Notebook is a very beautiful romance story to read. I rate this novel 10/10. The Notebook is one of my all-time favorite romance novels. I highly recommend The Notebook to my fellow bookworms who are into the romance genre. If you enjoy reading romantic novels like Dheo's by Anjell, and Devil In Winter by Lisa Kleypas, you will definitely love The Notebook as well. It will touch your heart and give you an eye-opener of true love. Plus, it motivates you to find true love. Hehehe ^_^ But be patient. True love takes a lot of patience and courage.

Okay, so these are the four books I read in December. Before this, I usually write book reviews in individual posts. But since I'm busy this month, I can only share my reviews in compilation. In 2025, my book reviews are going to look like this. Yep, I'm going to share my reviews monthly. Btw, I decided to limit my blogging time in 2025. I'm only going to share one post a week. I want to focus on writing, small business, self-love and care, mental and physical health in 2025. Btw, my blog is not just about books. My blog is also about pop-culture, edutainment, lifestyle, beauty, and travel. So I need to make space for these niches too.

This Thursday, 26 December, I'm going for a staycation in Kuala Lumpur. So this post is my last one for 2024. I'll see you guys again next year. Insya-Allah. Happy Seasons Greetings to all my Christian friends. Wish you guys a good celebration and happy holidays. Happy New Year in advance as well ^_^
