BYE-BYE 2024, EIYO 2025
Eiyo Fadneiras,
Welcome to Fadima Mooneira's first post of 2025. How was your New Year celebration? Are you guys feeling revitalized? Hehehe ^_^ Okay, let's carry on with today's objective. In the first post of 2025, I will share my sweet memories of 2024, and then I will share my plans for this blog and myself for 2025. Now let's get started...
Overall, 2024 was a beautiful year for me. It was better than my 2023 and years before. Syukur alhamdulillah. I achieved a lot of good things as an author and even a human being. I learned a lot of valuable lessons from my ups and downs, and I even made new friends with like-minded people (this is my goal every year). Hehehe ^_^
Okay, so here are the things that I achieved and experienced in 2024...
#1 TRAVELED DOMESTICALLY
Besides make new friends, travel is also one of my annual goals. During 2024, my family and I traveled domestically a lot. We went to Kuching (Sarawak), Kota Bharu (Kelantan), Kuala Terengganu (Terengganu), Kuantan (Pahang), and Desaru (Johor). And we even had a five-day staycation in Kuala Lumpur during the last week of 2024. I visited these cities and states before. But visiting them again is just awesome. There are so many new interesting places to visit at these cities and states. I hope I will travel to Sarawak, Terengganu, and Pahang again in 2025. I also wish to travel to Sabah again this year. Hehehe ^_^
#2 TRAVELED OVERSEAS
In October 2024, my family and I went to our favorite place in the world ~ England. We spent our England vacation at the Lake District and London. We visited these places many times. But like I said, visiting them again is always awesome. Plus, my family and I can never get enough of England. We just love England so much. I hope to travel to England again this year or maybe next year or maybe in the future. But this time, I hope to visit Hampshire, Cotswolds, and other English countryside in the south.
#3 PUBLISHED MY SECOND NOVEL
My second novel, Saranghaeyo Namsan is one of the beautiful things that made my 2024 meaningful. Yep, I published my second novel in May 2024. Having Saranghaeyo Namsan published makes me feel so happy and grateful. I've been working on this manuscript since 2012. Saranghaeyo Namsan was supposed to be my first novel instead of Fail Merah. I sent the manuscript to two publishing houses before. And both of them rejected the manuscript. Huhuhu... But that doesn't make me give up on the project. When Saranghaeyo Namsan got rejected the second time, I was already working on Fail Merah. That was back in 2020, during the Covid-19 lockdown. So I decided to focus on Fail Merah first. After I got Fail Merah published in 2022, I started working on Saranghaeyo Namsan again. I revamped the manuscript a bit to make it align with the current book trend. In the first draft, there was no library cafe in Saranghaeyo Namsan. Yeah, the story is different from the first draft.
This may sound funny to some of you. But I salute myself. And even clap loudly for myself on a job well done. Syukur alhamdulillah. Yay me!!! ^_^ Thanks to my courage, Saranghaeyo Namsan is no longer a dream. It's a reality. And thank you to those who supported me and have bought Saranghaeyo Namsan. I hope those who have read the story enjoy it. And please don't forget to share your reviews on your socmeds. And do tag me as well. Hehehe ^_^ For those who haven't read the story, I hope you'll enjoy it too. And I hope Maya's adventure will be yours. Aamiin. For those who haven't bought Saranghaeyo Namsan, here's the link >> SARANGHAEYO NAMSAN @ FADNEIRA_ON94U You can also purchase Saranghaeyo Namsan via Book Capital >> SARANGHAEYO NAMSAN @ BOOK CAPITAL. This novel is selling well at Book Capital. Syukur alhamdulillah ^_^
#4 PUBLISHED MY SEVENTH COLLABORATION BOOK
Besides Saranghaeyo Namsan, I also published my seventh collaboration book ~ Komplot Cerpen Penulis Paluan Seni Vol.3 (KCPPS 3). KCPPS 3 is a book of short stories. In KCPPS 3, I wrote a short mystery romance story titled Ejen Hacks. Ejen Hacks could be Fail Merah's prequel and the story is set in Putrajaya, Malaysia. Overall, KCPPS 3 is my 10th book. Syukur alhamdulillah. For those who are interested in Ejen Hacks and KCPPS 3, here's the link >> KCPPS 3 @ FADNEIRA_ON94U
#5 PARTICIPATED IN BOOK EVENTS
In 2024, I participated in four book events ~ the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2024 (KLIBF 2024), the Selangor Children's Book Fair 2024 (SCBF 2024), the Selangor International Book Fair 2024 (SIBF 2024), and Majlis Perasmian Hentian Buku Selangor. Now let me share my experiences participating in each event...
#1 PENTAS DUNIA BUKU @KLIBF 2024
Me (center) with Kak Lala (right) and Ji Karty Hasri (left) at Pentas Dunia Buku @ KLIBF 2024. Tq, Persatuan Booktubers for this lovely picture ^_^
10 days after publishing Saranghaeyo Namsan, I participated in Pentas Dunia Buku at the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair 2024. The event was held at Dewan Merdeka (Level 4) of the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur. The event was part of Saranghaeyo Namsan's launch. During the Pentas Dunia Buku, I was interviewed by Booktuber, Norsamila Samsudin (Kak Lala). I also shared the stage with my mom, Ji Karty Hasri, who is also the editor of Saranghaeyo Namsan ^_^
Pentas Dunia Buku was an awesome experience for me. It challenged me on my public speaking skill. FYI, I had stage fright anxiety before. Syukur alhamdulillah, the event turned out well for me, my mom, and Kak Lala. I was happy ^_^ Feel free to read my Pentas Dunia Buku experience on >> SARANGHAEYO NAMSAN @ PBAKL 2024
#2 MEET & GREET @ SCBF 2024
From left: Me, Adeq Farhana, and Yuda Areni. Tq, MBBY for this picture ^_^
Two months after participating in the Pentas Dunia Buku @ KLIBF 2024, I participated in the Meet & Greet session at the Selangor Children's Book Fair 2024. The Meet & Greet session was one of the best 2024 memories for me. It was held at Kompleks PKNS Shah Alam. The moderator for the session was Adeq Farhana. And for the session, I shared the stage with my fellow author, Yuda Areni. FYI, Yuda Areni is the author and creator of Orakel Dewata (a self-published epic fantasy novel). This is not my first time sharing the stage with Yuda. During KLIBF 2023, we already shared the stage together for Resensi Buku. So this meet & greet session is like part two of our Resensi Buku. Hehehe ^_^ Btw, it's awesome sharing the stage with Yuda again. He's always a good team player and we will always be a good team. Thanks, Yuda. I wish you all the best in your writing career and yet to come. May you become a bestselling and award winning author. Aamiin ^_^
After the meet & greet session, I felt happy and grateful. Everything turned out well. I spoke and presented well. I feel that I finally can conquer my stage fright anxiety. Syukur alhamdulillah. I hope I will continue to become a better presenter in the future. Aamiin. Feel free to read my SCBF 2024 experience on >> SARANGHEYO NAMSAN X ORAKEL DEWATA @ SCBF 2024
#3 SIBF 2024
During the last week of November 2024, I participated in the Selangor International Book Fair 2024 with six of my fellow authors ~ Nabun Ahmad, Amshida Ahmad Rani, Muzz Ahmad, Sarimah Abu Bakar, Suffiah Muhamad, and Zaitun Mohd. Razeli. Together, we are known as Karyawan Mandiri. Yay!!!
SIBF 2024, was an amazing experience for me. Besides having experience selling books, I also made new friends with like-minded people. I was very grateful for that. Most of the people I met during SIBF 2024 are awesome. They are talented, kind-hearted, humble, and special in their own way. I wish my Karyawan Mandiri and new friends all the best in their careers and the whole future. May you guys become successful in your field. Aamiin. I hope to see you guys again in the future. Feel free to read my SIBF experience on >> FADIMA MOONEIRA @ SIBF 2024
#4 MAJLIS PERASMIAN HENTIAN BUKU SELANGOR
I thought SIBF 2024 was the last book event I participated in 2024. But I was wrong. Hehehe :P When I was enjoying my family vacation at Desaru, my bestie, Maddy M who is also the founder of SM Books & Collectibles (an online pre-loved bookshop) invited me to collaborated with her for the Majlis Perasmian Hentian Buku Selangor. So I accepted Maddy M's invitation and we opened a stall together there at the event.
Majlis Perasmian Hentian Buku Selangor was a small book event. But it is a good experience for me as an authorpreneur. The feeling of participating the event was different from all the events I participated before. During this event, I made friends with pre-loved booksellers. Plus, I learned the art of selling pre-loved books from them. It was a valuable knowledge. Thank you, Maddy M for inviting me to collaborated with you. I hope to collaborate with you again in the future. I also wish you all the best for your future. May SM Books & Collectibles become a successful online pre-loved bookshop. And may you publish your first novel soon. Aamiin.
Okay, so these are my 2024 achievements and sweet memories. Syukur alhamdulillah. These experiences and achievements make me grow as a better person. And I hope to continue this growth in 2025. Aamiin. Since I shared my achievements and sweet memories, now it's time for me to share the valuable life lessons and one new skill I learned in 2024. So here are them...
THINGS I LEARNED IN 2024
#1 THE SECOND PART OF SELF-LOVE
From wellnessoneness.com
Years before, I already started practicing self-love. I prioritize myself, set boundaries, start a journal, celebrate my wins, and etc. I did these things well and became a better version of myself. Syukur alhamdulillah. But last year, I found out that all the things I did before were only the first part of self-love practice. Woah! Self-love have two parts. Okay, I hate to break this to you guys. But the second part of self-love practice is scary and terrifying. It forces you to love your darkest parts. Yes, the second part of self-love practice requires you to treat your flaws the same way you treat your strengths, quit self-doubts, forgive those who hurt you before, and make peace with your past traumas.
Geez... this is quite hard especially when it comes to making peace with past traumas and forgiving those who hurt you before. And there is one past trauma I'm having a hard time making peace with. I'm also having a hard time forgiving the person who caused me the trauma. But I'm not going to talk about it here with you guys right now. And no mattar how hard this is going to be, I'm going to accept the second part of self-love practice as one of my 2025 challenges. I want to be free from my past. I want to live in the present. Most important, I strongly want to become a better version of myself. Becoming a better version of myself has always been one of my annual goals. So Insya-Allah, I will go through this no matter what. I hope I will make peace with that past trauma I had and forgive the person soon. This is one of my new year resolutions.
#2 UNCONDITIONAL AND TRUE LOVE
Learning about unconditional and true love makes me reread The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. And I'm going to read more of Nicholas Sparks's novels in 2025. I'm going to reread a Walk To Remember and The Wedding for sure ^_^
As a romance author, I like doing research on love, romance, and relationships. As 2024 approached its end, I learned a lot about unconditional and true love. Yes, it made me cry tears of joy. It also made me question myself. 'Do you think you know love, Fadima? No, you don't.' True love is more than romance and fairytales. True love is deep, unconditional, and enduring. True love is capable of transcending time and distance. It's more than romantic dates and exchanging fancy gifts. It's a love that is based on mutual respect, understanding, and support.
Love has three levels ~ mind, heart, and soul. If two people fall in love on the mind level, their love is going to be temporary. And if two people fall in love at the heart level, their love is going to last a lifetime. But if two people fall in love at a soul level, their love is going last for eternity and become a legend to the future generations. And yes, true love also brings you epiphany and homecoming. I believe epiphany and homecoming are the beauty of true love. But true love only happens to good and strong people. So if you wish to find true love, be good and strong. Work hard on becoming a better version of yourself. Most important, be patient and trust Allah SWT's timing. Btw, learning about true love helps me to reduce my philophobia. I'm still on the road of recovering. Insya-Allah, I will be free from philophobia soon ^_^
#3 THE POWER OF DOING NOTHING IN ONE DAY
Let's chillax and do nothing ^_^
Besides self-love and true love, I also learned more about self-care. I learned that I must not underestimate the power of doing nothing in one day. Yep, it is important to take a break from your busy work. I experienced a lot of burnout last year. Busy schedules make me mentally exhausted and overwhelmed. And yes, this year I'm telling myself not to feel guilty to take breaks. Breaks make me energize and work better.
#4 NEW SKILL -CRAFTING
With Blossom the llama. She's the first llama plushie I made ^_^
In 2024, I took a few crafting workshops with Spotlight. From those workshops, I learned a lot of new crafts. I enjoyed crafting plushies the most. I'm grateful for this new skill. It makes me discover a new hidden talent in me. Syukur alhamdulillah.
Okay, so these are the things I learned in 2024. Now let me share with you some of my plans for this blog and myself in 2025...
My blog's new logo ^_^
As you can see, this blog has changed its corporate colors. Purple and yellow are no longer the colors for Fadima Mooneira. Red and pink are the new colors for this blog starting from 2025. Hehehe ^_^ Recently, the color purple and yellow seems so yesterday for me. That's why I believe it's time to change. At first, I don't know what colors should I choose as a theme for my blog. But after experimenting with colors, I discovered that red and pink make good combination. After all red is the theme color for my first novel, Fail Merah. And pink in the theme color for Saranghaeyo Namsan. Plus, red and pink suit the unapologetic image of this blog. So why not make them the new color theme for Fadima Mooneira. Hehehe ^_^
My blog's new banner ^_^
In 2025, I'm planning to reduce my blogging time. Before this, I used to post 2 posts a week. But this year, I'm only going to post 1 post a week. This year, I want to focus more on my writing. I want to grow as a better author day by day. Plus, I'm writing my third novel now. Wish me luck for that. Besides writing, I also want to focus on book marketing and start my small business. And most important I want to focus on self-love and care, mental and physical health, and of course... my epiphany. Everyone needs epiphany ^_^
However, have no worries. I will still continue blogging and maintain this blog's niches ~ pop-culture, edutainment, lifestyle, travel, and beauty. In 2025, the Fadima Mooneira Art Gallery will only be posted once in 3 months, the Book Heartthrob Profile series will only be posted once in two months, and my book reviews will be in one compilation post (just like the one I did for my December readings). And it will be posted once in two months.
Okay, so these are the plans for my blog and myself in 2025. Thank you for reading. I'll see you guys again next week. Insya-Allah. Take care.
XoXo,
Fadima Mooneira ^_^
