HIS ROLES IN THE STORY: He's the protagonist and the love interest to the female lead, Scarlett DuBois.
HIS GOALS:
Asher Donovan has everything: talent in football, charisma, and stunning visuals. These qualities make Asher a superstar in his field—the darling of the Premier League. But despite his fame and success, Asher is still not happy. He has one past trauma and unresolved issues, which have given him a death wish. Asher's death wish motivates him to do crazy things, including illegal racing.
Meeting Scarlett DuBois gives Asher an epiphany and homecoming as he helps her heal her past trauma. Together, Asher and Scarlett embark on a self-discovery journey that transforms them into their higher self.
HIS PERSONALITY
Asher is portrayed as a charming bad boy. He has a very cool and witty personality. I like the way he talks. Very smooth and charming. Hehehe ^_^ Even though Asher is sarcastic, he still has a caring heart. I like the way he cares for Scarlett.
HIS PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
Asher is an extremely handsome hunk. He is tall, well-built, and has strong physics. He is 6 foot 2 inches tall. Asher has crystal fair skin, emerald green eyes, dan dark brown hair. He is sooooo dreamy looking ^_^
HIS BACKSTORY
Asher Donovan loves football. He has always dreamt of becoming a footballer since he was a child. Asher spent his childhood developing his skills. And Holchester United had always been his dream team.
When Asher was a teenager, he got scouted by a Holchester United talent scout. And the rest was history for Asher. His father was most happy for him.
After being scouted as one of Holchester United's future stars, Asher went out with his best friend, Teddy to celebrate. But unfortunately, something bad happened to Teddy on the same night. And Asher blamed himself forever.
After achieving success with Holchester United, Asher moved to Blackcastle. His transfer to Blackcastle creates controversy. Asher's father is also not happy with the move. The transfer changes Asher's relationship with his father.
At Blackcastle, Asher becomes teammates with his former nemesis, Vincent DuBois (who is also Scarlett's brother). Even though they are now playing in the same team, Asher and Vincent still don't like each other. Asher's reckless antics during the last match of the season cause Blackcastle to lose the championship.
Blackcastle's coach is not happy with Asher and Vincent. He forces them to take ballet lessons during summer break as a punishment. Scarlett DuBois is appointed as Asher and Vincent's instructor. And that's how Asher meets Scarlett.
MY OVERALL REVIEW OF THE CHARACTER
I believe Asher Donovan is a very promising male lead. To me, he's the best book heartthrob created by Ana Huang. He has all the qualities of a swoon-worthy book heartthrob. He is blessed with stunning visuals and charisma. Asher has a promising career and is handsomely paid. Plus, he's a GOAT in his field.
But despite his qualities, Asher also has his flaws. And his flaws make him a make-believe character. Asher's past trauma and unresolved issues blend well with the story. It makes The Striker a profound story to read.
Even though Asher is portrayed as a bad boy and his vibes are quite nasty, he still has a caring heart. Asher is also a romantic soul. I like the way he cares for Scarlett. I like the way he helps her heal from her past trauma. I like the way he supports her in her ballet career and encourages her to go for her dreams. And I also like the way he romances her. It's soooooo dreamy. Auwww!!!
Before The Striker, Asher Donovan is already a famous character in the AH verse. Ana Huang likes to mention and gives Asher cameo appearances in her previous stories. So this character was already intriguing to AH fans before The Striker got published. It's nice to read Asher's story and get to know the character. Well done, Ana Huang ^_^

I have never read this book before, but it sounds like a delightful read. I would love to see how Asher's character develops in the story.
