FOUR REASONS TO VISIT THE BORNEO CULTURES MUSEUM
Eiyo Fadneiras,
Welcome back to my blog. I'm here to share a travel + edutainment post with you guys. In May last year, my family and I traveled to Kuching, Sarawak. And during our vacation, we visited the Borneo Cultures Museum. I love the museum a lot. The Borneo Cultures Museum is one of the best museums I've visited. And I highly recommend you guys to visit this museum if you travel to Kuching. This museum is a must-not-miss for all culture vultures like me ^_^ So in today's post, I will share the four reasons to visit the Borneo Cultures Museum. Yay! Before I share the reasons, let me share a summary of Sarawak and the museum with you guys...
ABOUT SARAWAK
Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia. This state is located in East Malaysia and northwest of Borneo island. Sarawak is bordered by Sabah (Malaysia) to the northeast, Kalimantan (Indonesia) to the south, and Brunei to the north.
Sarawak is nicknamed Bumi Kenyalang (land of the hornbill birds). The hornbill bird has become Sarawak's important cultural symbol, representing the spirit of God. It is also believed that if a hornbill is seen flying over residences, it will bring good luck to the local community. Sarawak has eight types of hornbills. The Rhinoceros hornbill is the state bird of Sarawak.
The state capital of Sarawak is Kuching. Kuching is also the largest city in Sarawak. Other cities and towns in Sarawak include Miri, Sibu, and Bintulu. Sarawak is famous for its nature, natural resources, rich history, unique heritage, and diverse culture. Sarawak is a very diverse state. Some of the ethnicities in Sarawak are Iban, Chinese, Malay, Bidayuh, Melanau, Orang Ulu, Indian, Eurasian, and Kedayan. Sarawak is a very interesting state to visit and my favorite holiday destination in Malaysia.
ABOUT THE BORNEO CULTURES MUSEUM
The Borneo Cultures Museum is a world-class museum that showcases Sarawak and Borneo's natural and cultural heritage. The museum provides its visitors with interactive exhibits, galleries, and a collection of artifacts reflecting the rich history and biodiversity of Sarawak and Borneo. Every exhibition has its theme. Some of the themes are Love Our Rivers, In Harmony With Nature, Time Changes, and Objects of Desire.
