BOOK HEARTTHROB PROFILE: DANTE RUSSO FROM KING OF WRATH
Eiyo Fadneiras,
Welcome back to my blog. The book heartthrob profile is back with another swoon-worthy hero to swoon your heart. Yay! Now let me introduce you to him...
The book heartthrob I will feature in this month's episode is Dante Russo. He is a book heartthrob created by Ana Huang for one of her best-selling novels, King Of Wrath (KOW). Now, let's check out Dante's profile...
ABOUT DANTE RUSSO
NAME: Dante Russo
AGE: 37 years old
NATIONALITY: Italian-American
OCCUPATION: Businessman, CEO, and President of the Russo Group
HIS ROLES IN THE STORY: Dante is the protagonist and the love interest of the female lead, Vivian Lau.
HIS GOALS:
Dante only has career and business on his mind. At the beginning of the story, Dante was blackmailed by Francis Lau (Vivian's father). Francis told Dante that he has to marry Vivian or else his brother, Luca will die.
Dante agreed to marry Vivian Lau just to save Luca from a huge trouble that could cost his life. Dante was not happy with the arranged marriage. He did not love Vivian. Plus, she was annoying to him. They quarreled a lot. Francis gave Dante and Vivian one year to prepare for the wedding. Dante decided to take this one year as an opportunity for him to find a solution and break the contract.
But as days went by, Dante started to develop feelings for Vivian. She became his no.1 goal. But at the same time, Dante realized that if Vivian finds out the real reason behind this arranged marriage, he will be doomed. He could lose her forever. So what will Dante do to have Vivian all for himself? Will Vivian be upset if she finds out the real reason for this arranged marriage?
HIS PERSONALITY
Dante is portrayed as a grumpy, nasty, and ruthless person at the beginning of the story. He is very serious in his craft. At the beginning of the story, I did not like Dante. I thought he was a very ungentleman male lead.
But as the plot evolves, Dante turns into a very caring, loving, and responsible hero. I started to have a crush on this character during the second part of the story. The author even portrays Dante's inner child personality. The fact that he likes pouring soy sauce over vanilla ice cream is so cool. I would like to try his recipe one day. Btw, I already tried Vivian's Pringles-deep-in-pudding recipe. Pringles and pudding tasted delicious together. Hehehe ^_^ And oh yeah, I like the way he cares for Vivian and how he tries to build a second chance with her.
Generally, Dante is also portrayed as a charismatic and intelligent person. He is quick-witted and has the quality of an alpha male hero.
HIS PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES
Dante is a very handsome and dashing man. He has black hair and eyes. He has a masculine body. And he is 6 feet 7 inches tall. Wow!!!
HIS BACKSTORY
Dante is the first son of Giovanni and Janis Russo. His parents are good people, but negligent. They didn't really care about raising their children. Giovanni and Janis live in Bali but move to Langkawi (Malaysia) at the end of the story. That's cute ^_^
Dante and his brother, Luca, grew up with their grandfather, Enzo. Enzo was a ruthless businessman. From him, Dante and Luca learned about business. Dante is also Enzo's eldest grandson and the heir of the Russo Group.
Growing up with Enzo makes Dante only know business. He has no time to do other things that are also important in life. Dante dated many women before he met Vivian. But none of them are good enough for him. It makes Dante believe that his perfect match doesn't exist until Vivian enters his life.
MY OVERALL REVIEW OF THE CHARACTER
Like I mentioned above, I had a crush on this character while reading KOW. I like the strengths and flaws that Ana Huang puts in him. Dante is a make-believe character indeed. I can relate this character to real people.
I also like the way Ana Huang develops this character as the plot evolves. At the beginning of the story, you might not like Dante. He seems so nasty and always so grumpy. Plus, he speaks harshly. But as the plot evolves, Dante transforms into a sweet, caring, loving, and responsible man. KOW is a love story about meeting the right person. The one that is meant for you. Being with the right person gives you epiphany, self-discovery, and homecoming. That's what happened to Dante and Vivian in the story. Dante sees his true self in Vivian. She becomes his mirror. Same for Vivian. Vivian also becomes more confident and can express herself well after Dante enters her life. Dante makes Vivian know her worth. Overall, I can say that KOW is a twin flame love story. Yep, Vivian and Dante are twin flames. They help each other to grow.
Dante Russo is my second favorite Ana Huang hero after Asher Donovan. But when it comes to Ana Huang novels I've read, King of Wrath is the best. Maybe because it's about twin flames. The concept of twin flames fascinates me these days. Plus, I like that Ana Huang uses the invisible string theory in KOW. It makes the story deep.
Okay, so this is my analysis of Dante Russo from King Of Wrath. Thank you for joining me on this book heartthrob analysis. Insya-Allah, the book heartthrob profile episode will be back in June with another swoon-worthy hero to swoon your heart.
Before I end this post, I want to ask you guys two related questions...
1) Are you a fan of Ana Huang?
2) If yes, who is your favorite Ana Huang hero and why?
Okay, this is all for now. Thank you for reading this post. I'll see you guys again next week. Take care.

POST RELATED TO DANTE RUSSO
I think your fan pick of Ben Barnes for Dante is perfect! Reading through the character profile, I think he would really fit that role. The book itself sounds really cool too, I might have to add that to my reading list!
